Process Control Technician

Job Summary:
A Process Control Technician is responsible to uphold the highest standards across all production departments. In this role, you will implement process quality practices and systems, validate processes, document findings, and train staff to ensure consistent production quality. We are seeking an individual committed to adhering to personnel, product, and food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Production Control Coordinator, SQF Practitioner, Customer Service Manager, Plant Manager, and production staff to review and validate quality processes and systems.
• Oversee calibration of measurement and testing equipment.

Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary:
The maintenance technician is critical position responsible for maintaining, repairing and inspecting printing presses, laminators, slitters, pouch/bag machines and peripheral equipment. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for general plant and facility repair. In addition, a maintenance tech will install, service and repair electrical and mechanical motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems and waters systems. Dismantle, and reassemble parts for cleaning and repair, replace fuses, bulbs, circuit breakers and electrical switches.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in mechanical maintenance preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must have strong mechanical aptitude.

Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting printing presses, laminators, slitters, and peripheral equipment. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for general plant and facility repair.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
MUST HAVE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE - Minimum two years of experience in repairing and maintaining flexographic printing presses, wide web slitting machines and/or laminators.

Requirements:
• Must adhere to all quality processes, including documentation and verification as they apply to the performance of your tasks.
• Able to lift between 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk, squat, crouch, turn, twist, stretch, climb steps, grab, pull, push, and bend throughout an 8-to-12-hour shift.
• Knowledge of flexographic printing production equipment **
• Knowledge of electric motors, pumps, and pneumatic systems. **
• Candidate must have knowledge of control systems components including PLC logic, control system wiring, VFDs, 3 phase motors, potentiometers, encoders, electro-pneumatically actuated valves and pneumatic control systems. **

Duties:
• Maintain and repair equipment using hand and power tools.

Pouch/Bag Machine Operator

Job Summary:
Operate the Totani and/or Hudson Sharp Pouching Machine in the safest, most effective, and efficient manner while adhering to established quality standards.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in APC manufacturing positions or specific industry related to pouch making experience
• Acceptable prior work history

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.
• Participate in developing, understanding, and following all SOP’s.
• Read, understand, interpret, and utilize all information retrieved from job jackets, manufacturing specifications, pouch specifications and print spec sheets.
• Perform and manage machine set-ups/changeovers by utilizing the information on the job jacket and the pouch specification.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the quality standards associated with running a pouch machine. Conduct, document, interpret and act upon all data obtained during QA tests.
• Understand the bar code system to properly scan all raw materials used in production to ensure accurate inventory control. Able to produce new tickets for all finished goods inventory and return to stock unused materials.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner which document production, waste, set up time and downtime and all Quality Assurance tests.
• Successfully set up machine to customer specifications.
• Successfully troubleshoot all mechanical problems and apply corrective action as needed.
• Safely operate all necessary roll handling equipment to load work in process rolls onto machine.
• Produce pouches within customer specifications while completing all necessary quality testing

Press Assistant

Job Summary:
The press assistant must assist the press operator in all functions in the press department. The press assistant is responsible for the set up and operation of the printing press to produce printed product meeting customer specifications. Press assistant will monitor and manage of solvent based inks by proper viscosity. Insertion of shaft through cores and secure roll on press to the feed position. General housekeeping of printing presses and its surroundings. Assit in the goals in productivity, quality, safety, low waste, and teamwork.

Press Operator

Job Summary:
Press operators are required to operate a ten color press and manage press assistants during the process. Responsible for reading the job order and setup for individual jobs for quality requirements and to meet customer specifications. Manage solvent based inks by proper viscosity. Manipulate the press to engage anilox; adjust position of sleeves to achieve the proper press settings. Insertion of shaft through cores and secure roll on press to the feed position. Start up of press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment registration of printing plates as necessary to ensure a high quality product. Cut samples of printed material and inspect for imperfection to the products quality standards. Troubleshoot any necessary imperfection to the product standards at that time. Such techniques could involve using new inks, cleaning and changing anilox units or making press adjustments. Responsible to teach, lead, motivate and assign tasks to press team of assistants so they may maintain the plants overall goals in productivity, quality, safety, low waste, and teamwork.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:
3 years minimum operating a printing press. Preferably wide wed flexographic gearless printing press. Experience printing on various substrates including BOPP, PET, PE, Cosmetics webs and paper products. Understanding of reverse and surface printing, process printing and solvent based inks.

Slitter Operator

Job Summary:
The slitter operator must set up and operate the slitting machine to produce finished rolls of films (printed/laminated, printed only, unprinted laminated, plain unsupported) meeting customer specifications. Operator is responsible for weighing, wrapping and stacking the finished rolls on pallets, as well as, cleaning the slitter and peripheral equipment.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Laminator Operator

Job Summary:
This position is directly in charge of preparing and operating two types of laminators, as well as, cleaning the laminators and peripheral equipment. The lamination process consists of combining two or more film substrates by means of water based or solventless adhesive. Lamination is essential in flexible packaging as provides enhanced protection to the product as well as extends the product shelf life. The laminator operator is required to operate manual controls or levers on the machine, handle film materials and lift heavy objects, dismantle and re-assemble parts for cleaning and repair. In addition, the operator is expected maintain the efficiency, quality and waste standards as well as followed detailed work orders and instructions with accuracy.

Machinist

Job Summary:
As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining precision machinery used to repair/reproduce/modify components related to flexographic printing machinery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, a keen eye for detail, creative problem-solving design skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
On a typical day, you will work on repairing or replicating a variety of components designed by OEM of flexographic printing presses, slitters, laminators and pouch making machine, mounters and a host of other associated machines crucial to a flexographic printing plant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinder to produce high-precision components for flexographic printing presses and associated machinery.
- Must be proficient in imperial/metric units, drilling, tapping and component repair or replication.
- Finish and repairing a variety of shafts (rubber coated, profiled, aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel)
- Maintain, troubleshoot tooling/fixtures to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent malfunctions and extend their lifespan.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Work closely with other members of the production team, including operators and maintenance staff, to optimize workflow and meet production goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure a smooth production process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training programs.

Qualifications:
Proven experience as a machinist, preferably in a maintenance environment.
- Proficiency in the operation of lathes, milling machines, and surface grinder.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, measurement devices and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Technical component sketching skills required

Converting Manager: Lamination, Pouch and Slitting

Job Summary:
The primary focus of the position will be to lead and supervise the lamination and pouch operation towards advanced standards of safety, quality, production, efficiency, and optimal individual contribution. Process analysis and improvement will be a major responsibility. This will include the evaluation of current processes and procedures. This position is responsible for recommending, implementing, monitoring, and measuring the effectiveness of policies and procedures. Training, policy enforcement, R&D, supplier management, employee management, waste reduction, efficiency production are key areas that require improvement and would fall under the responsibility of this position.

Education:
• College degree preferred. Minimum high school and equivalent work experience and demonstrated knowledge
• Computer proficient


Preferred Experience:
10+ years in flexographic industry. Preferably at least 3+ years in a supervisory role. Must have wide web flexographic experience using solvent and solvent less adhesives in the lamination process, laminating on various substrates including BOPP, PET, PE, Paper, coated films etc. Familiar with slitting policy and procedures and machinery. Familiar with Totani pouch machine.

Requirements:

Mounting Technician

Job Summary:
The Mounting Technician prepares photopolymer plates by applying sticky-back tapes and primers to various sleeve sizes. This process ensures the precise mounting of individual color plates for production jobs. This process is essential to ensure registration and copy accuracy prior to printing

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plate Preparation & Mounting
• Evaluate layout proofs, PDF files, prints, color target proofs and printing plates.
• Follow work order instructions to ensure mounting, copy and job accuracy.
• Mount photopolymer plates onto sleeves with precision.

Ink Technician

Job Summary:
The ink technician position requires an eye for color and a self- motivated person in the making of lamination and surface printing solvent-based inks. An ink technician is an important pre-press position and is responsible for supplying, mixing, toning and color matching inks for all printing jobs. Documentation of ink formulas and recipes in the software system is required for each job. Prior to staging inks press side, color accurate drawdowns must be prepared and pass color standard. The ink technician will return and label ink buckets and kits when jobs are complete. Monitoring and maintaining ink inventories are expected as well as creating and receiving purchase orders to ink suppliers and entering them into the inventory system. The ink technician will follow work orders, instructions, procedures and company policy. Lifting of heavy objects and maintaining an orderly work area is required.

Printing Department Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:
The primary focus of the position will be to lead the shift for printing department along with supporting departments towards advanced standards of safety, quality, production, efficiency, and optimal individual contribution. Supporting departments may include mounting, ink, lamination, slitting, perforating, and pouch.

The shift supervisor must manage the manufacturing employees on the assigned shift to ensure employee and product safety, achievement of product and operations quality standards, and adherence to policies and procedures. Under the guidance of the Printing Department Manager, this position is responsible for training, motivating, developing, evaluating, disciplining and achieving optimal individual contribution of the staff.

Education:
Minimum high school and equivalent work experience and demonstrated knowledge

Experience:
3 years’ experience in flexible packaging. Must have wide web flexographic printing experience. Understanding of surface and reverse printing methods with solvent based ink systems. Printing substrates would include BOPP, PE, PET, Metallized films, Nylons, cosmetics webs.

Warehouse and Material Handling

Job Summary:
The material handler is responsible for the receiving of incoming products and shipping outgoing products. In addition, this position is responsible for keeping the film raw material inventory in orderly condition, staging film for production and returning unused film into the warehouse. This is a detailed oriented position and requires reading and understanding of orders, packing list, shipping reports, quality checklist and BOL’s. Accurate labeling of incoming materials, returned materials from production and labeling of outgoing shipments is an essential responsibility for this job. This position will prepare pallets for daily shipments and maintain an orderly warehouse.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
One year minimum experience driving a forklift. Experience in warehouse and material handling positions preferred. Receiving, shipping, staging and returning materials in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:
The utility person is responsible for removing waste solvents from premises and bring into recycling area. In addition, this position must assist with recycling solvent wastes through the recyclers. Label drums accordingly and bring hazardous waste to Hazardous Waste Storage Area.

Customer Service Representative

Job Summary:
Customer Support Representatives act as the intermediary between our customers and our production team. Our office is connected to an 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that runs 24/7. Most correspondence with our customers is completed through phone calls and e-mail. Interaction with our production team occurs through face-to-face conversation, phone, email, or two-way radio.

The Graphics & Art Specialist handles all art that comes in from customers and Poly Print salespeople. They also work closely with outside vendors to ensure the artwork is to customer specifications. The art department is involved in every new job or change to an existing job. This person manages and maintains the entire art workflow process through the artwork portal. You are responsible for writing and receiving artwork purchase orders the graphics vendors and meeting deadlines. In addition, this position is responsible for providing timely artwork quotes for sales representatives, CSRs, and customers directly.

Education:
College degree preferred, Minimum high school diploma and equivalent work experience and demonstrated knowledge

Experience:
3 years of pre-press or graphic design, proficient in illustrator and photoshop. Has worked directly with customers and/or sales people. Ideally has experiencing work in high paced environment. Proficient in with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Laminating on various substrates including BOPP, PET, PE, Paper, coated films etc. Proficient understand with slitting process and finishing processes. Familiar with Totani pouch machine.

Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
Sourcing and purchasing raw material and non-raw material on a quality/ cost comparison basis for overall operation.
Coordinate the scheduling and delivery of raw materials/ non-raw material to ensure a continuous material supply to meet production requirement.
You will have sourcing responsibilities for other indirect items as deemed appropriate, managing, and maintaining raw material master data and ensuring we receive the best overall value for the dollars spent.

Responsibilities:
· Effective planning based on customer demand and forecast.
· Monitor and control inventory of raw material & components.
· Manage supply review and stock replenishments to ensure components availability to meet demand as per the forecast.
· Work closely with internal departments to ensure meet customer delivery schedule.
· Source and purchase the necessary materials, parts, and services as required by internal customers in a timely manner.
· Coordinate the timely return of damaged and/or improperly shipped materials with vendors.
· Professionally, creatively, and ethically negotiate with suppliers to obtain the optimal value.
· Work effectively with production and maintenance personnel to assure their material and parts needs are being met.
· Own and maintain raw material and parts master data.
· Maintain purchasing records, review late open orders and contact suppliers to expedite delivery.
· Develop and enhance long-term supplier relationships within a win-win environment.
· Verify and rectify any non-3-way match invoices with vendors and internal members.
· Identify and support productivity initiatives resulting in best quality, at best cost.
· Work with others to streamline the current buying procedures.
· Prepare and solicit bids and quotations as needed.

Experience/Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is required. This involves experience in purchasing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and other procurement-related activities. Demonstrated expertise in procurement processes, including strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and logistics. Experience in managing procurement projects from initiation to completion.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to solve complex problems related to procurement and supply chain management.
